Email us and a person reads it:
We aim to reply within two working days. RelapseLock has no account system, so there is no login to verify and nothing you need to prove — just describe what happened. It helps if you include your iOS version and iPhone model, and what you saw versus what you expected.
Please don't send screenshots of anything explicit; we don't need them, and we don't want to ask you for details about what you were doing. What we need is the app's behaviour, not yours.
Blocking
Something got through. Why?
Most likely one of three things, and only the third is a bug:
- Apple's filter missed the site. Website blocking uses the content restrictions built into iOS, which rely on Apple's own classification of adult content. We do not maintain a blocklist, so there is no list for us to add a site to.
- It was inside an app that isn't shielded, or inside a browser that isn't covered. Third-party browsers and browsers embedded in other apps are not always subject to the same restrictions. Shield that app too.
- Protection was actually off. Open the app — if Screen Time access has been revoked it will say Protection is off on the home screen and offer to fix it.
Can you block porn inside Reddit, Telegram or X?
No, and neither can anyone else on iOS. Apple provides no way for one app to inspect or filter what is displayed inside another. The only lever available is shielding the entire app for the hours you choose. If that's where it happens for you, shield the whole app and accept that you lose the rest of it during that window — that's the honest trade, and any app claiming otherwise is describing something iOS does not permit.
Nothing is being blocked at all
Check Settings → Screen Time on your iPhone and confirm RelapseLock still has access. If it was turned off, the app will show the Fix this button on its home screen. If access is granted and blocking still isn't happening, email us with your iOS version.
My schedule didn't turn on
The app distinguishes between a schedule that is off and one that iOS refused to register — if it shows Schedule failed, confirm Screen Time access is still granted in Settings, then retry from the Protection tab.
The disable delay
I need protection off right now and the timer is running
The countdown cannot be shortened. That is deliberate and there is no support override — if we could turn it off for you on request, the feature would not work for anybody. You can extend the delay, and you can cancel the request entirely.
If you genuinely need immediate access to a shielded app, turn off Screen Time access in Settings → Screen Time, or delete the app. Both work immediately. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you believe you are trapped.
My countdown restarted
The timer measures real elapsed time rather than the clock, so moving your device clock forward restarts the wait instead of skipping it. Travelling across a timezone can trigger this too; the app explains it rather than accusing you of anything.
Can I make the delay shorter?
You can change it to a shorter value when no countdown is running. You cannot shorten one mid-timer.
Subscription and billing
How do I cancel?
In your Apple Account: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → RelapseLock → Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, or the next period is charged.
I want a refund
Apple handles all payments, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them. If something is broken, email us first — we would rather fix it than have you pay for something that doesn't work.
I paid and my subscription isn't recognised
Tap Restore on the paywall, or Restore purchases under Account. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account you bought it with. If it still doesn't appear, email us.
My subscription lapsed — did my blocking stop?
No. Protection you already set up keeps running; we don't switch it off. Your streak, progress and settings become read-only until you resubscribe.
Your data
How do I delete everything?
Account → Delete all my data. Because wiping your data would also turn protection off, it goes through the same disable delay. Start the timer, then come back and delete.
Can you delete my data for me?
There is nothing for us to delete. RelapseLock has no account and no server, so none of your information ever reaches us — see the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Can I move my streak to a new phone?
Only through an encrypted iPhone backup or device transfer, since there is no sync. That's the direct cost of having no server, and we think it's the right trade.
Something else
Is this therapy?
No. RelapseLock is a blocking and tracking tool, not treatment and not a medical device. It makes no claims about health outcomes. If this is affecting your life in ways you can't manage on your own, please talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
